Is Nembe Ibe becoming irrelevant just as Nigeria may become Irrelevant?
Where will Nembe-ibe be when Nigeria's oil no longer generates the income it currently does because oil will
have been discovered in most countries of the world? Will Nembe-Ibe leaders have set in motion planning
and infrastructure that will generate revenue for the people? Would the educational gap between Nembe-Ibe
youth and that of our brethren in the east and west have been closed or will it be greater? These are but a few
questions for all Nembe-Ibe indigenes and our well wishers in and outside Nigeria to ponder and assist with
ideas and potential solutions. Read Ambassador Lyman's speech.

2009 Second Annual Convention: Welcome to Atlanta "09" -- Nembe Ibe USA President's Address.
Welcome to Atlanta "09"
Dear Nembe Ibe member and friends,
On behalf of Nembe Ibe USA I welcome you to Atlanta for our second annual convention this Labor Day weekend,
2009; we are counting on everyone to have a good time as we go through the purpose of which we are here in
Atlanta.
As an organization in its infancy, with representation from diverse backgrounds hosting varying needs, the Nembe
Ibe USA will have a share of its structural adjustments, and pain. But through the many transitions, the resilient
commitment of members to the needs of the community will provide the machinery by which the organization
operates.
Nembe Ibe, USA must be guided by the rule of law. For no one can successfully agree for a forum that is indecisive,
or one which fails to act across barriers. Our legacy will be tied to achieving the very important goal of using our
strength in numbers to drive meaningful, all inclusive policies benefiting the community. Experience tells us that we
cannot function solely in sects within the community, and attend to the universal or overriding needs of the
community. We must endeavor to unify all Nembe Ibe people back home for social and economic advancement by
dispelling stereotypes and promoting and enjoying a positive image through various educational seminars,
workshops, conferences and publications.
We must address issues of discrimination, employment, social services and economic development relative to the
Nembe Ibe community back home. We must also identify ways to provide assistance to needy members of Nembe
Ibe, USA. In defining the trends within the community, the Nembe Ibe, USA is resolved on pursuing funding and
partnerships that brings creative solutions into the community. The journey for Nembe Ibe, USA has only just begun;
we need your continued support, expertise and professionalism in pursuing the vision of the organization.
THANK YOU all and enjoy
Andrew Eperi, President, Nembe Ibe USA
