Okpoma
Okpoma is a community on Brass Island along the Nun River estuary and the Atlantic Ocean of Southern Bayelsa
State, Nigeria. Surrounding communities include Odioma, Diema, Fantuo and Twon-Brass. The royal Chief is
HRM (Late) Hon. Justice King Kesiye Stephen Sagbe, OKPO XX, the Amayanabo of Okpoma. The entire Nembe
community mourned the death of our beloved royal Chief in 2009. On the coastline of Okpoma there is the stretch of
white sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
Okpoma play host to Agip Oil Company and Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG Limited. Other cottage industries
exit but a small scale. There are currently a number of banks, insurance companies, hotels and guest houses and
health clinics operating on the Island.
The premier secondary schools in Okpoma is the Basic Junior Secondary School.
